HOW TO APPLY
Once applications are open students are able to choose an appointment time to schedule their interview
IS THE ACADEMY RIGHT FOR YOU?
The Academy is targeted towards students who are interested in helping others, especially through the application of sciences. Students must be willing to communicate, work outside of their comfort zone, and contribute time to the Academy. MSA classes will require effort and diligence. Although students and teachers are there to help, students must be on top of their work due to class rigor.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
GRADE LEVEL
On the year of admission, students must either be freshmen or sophomores. Students applying as juniors or seniors will be ineligible for admission.
ATTENDANCE
Students must have maintain adequate
attendance in junior high school and high school. The Academy works to teach a skill-based curriculum that attendance is pertinent to.
GPA
Incoming freshmen and sophomores should try and have around a 3.0 GPA in order to be considered for admission. This can be found on your school transcript.
APPLICATION

INTERVIEW
You will fill out your application on the VHS campus and complete an interview.
We have 72 seats available for our incoming 9th graders in the Fall of 2025.

ATTENDANCE
Aquire an electronic copy of your attendance record from the Fall semester and first progress report of the Spring semester of 8th grade and have it with you when you arrive for your interview and application on March 4 or 5. This can be found on Infinite Campus.
Steps to complete your application.
1. Have a desire to join the MSA.
2. Scan the QR code and reserve your time slot for your interview and application.
3. Obtain your Attendance records before your appointment
4. Obtain your transcripts before your appointment.
5. Ask two teachers for a recommendation form befoe your appointment.
6. Be early to your apointment
TRANSCRIPT
Aquire an electronic copy of your Fall semester unofficial transcript and have it ready when you interview and fill out the application on March 4 or 5. This can be found on Infinite Campus.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Obtain a letter of recommendation from 2 core teachers only. No coaches or friends of family will be accepted

SCHEDULE
Students will have one MSA per year in their schedule. Students are not required to take Academy general education classes, but they must take the elective class.
SCHOOL
Students must be enrolled in Valencia High School as part of the William S. Hart School District as a full-time student.
APPLICATION
Completed applications will only be accepted. This includes two letters of recommendation from a core teacher, a copy of your unofficial transcript, and a copy of your attendance record.
