What is JUMP?
JUMP 8, Junior Up and Coming Medical Professionals is a program where students explore and learn an array of careers in the medical field. Throughout this program, students will also learn about the Medical Science Academy at Valencia High School and different medical pathways such as Emergency Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Behavioral Health. Guest speakers will talk about their careers, giving students an idea of what it is like to work in the medical field. By exploring medicine and healthcare, students grow into a stronger, more confident person through activities they do in JUMP. In addition, students will be able to learn various practical skills such as compression wrapping as well as other ways to treat a patient. By the end of the program, they will also know how to perform skills such as splinting, dealing with puncture wounds, and hands-only CPR.
